Key Features
- Pave scrolls curl along the bar like a vine rather than sitting in a straight row.
- A pear cut stone hangs loose from the centre, so it catches light independently of the bar.
- The bar dips at the middle, which gives the pendant a clear low point at the throat.
- Crafted in 925 sterling silver with a continuous run of black beads along the chain.
Styling Suggestions
A hanging drop moves as you do, which makes this one better suited to evenings than to a desk. Wear it with a silk saree or a festive kurta where the movement is part of the effect.
FAQs
What is a pear cut?
A pear cut is a teardrop shape, rounded at one end and pointed at the other, which is why it is used so often for drops. The point sits at the top so the wide end hangs lowest, giving the stone a natural sense of falling.
Will the drop swing about too much?
It moves enough to catch light but is small and light, so it settles quickly rather than swinging. Most people notice the movement only when they turn or walk, which is exactly the effect a hanging drop is meant to create.
Is this too dressy for daily wear?
It leans towards occasions rather than everyday use, mostly because of the drop. If you want something for daily wear, a fixed pendant sits closer to the skin and is less likely to catch on a dupatta or a seatbelt.
What is the vine pattern made of?
The scrolls are cut from the silver itself and then set with small stones along their length. Nothing is applied on top, which is why the curls hold their shape and the pattern reads clearly even at the small scale used here.
